At times, the irony of life favors those that are actually causing life’s little problems. You get to sleep through your bouts of snoring while your partner is losing all the sleep. Whatever it takes, stop sleeping on your back. Snoring is most commonly caused by the muscles of your throat relaxing and clogging your airway. If you sleep on your back it’s easier for the relaxed tissue to obstruct your air flow.

Various snoring sprays have also been known to bring relief from snoring. For best results, use a spray designed to stop your throat muscles from relaxing and blocking your breathing.

Keep in mind also that being overweight is a huge contributor to snoring. Extra body weight also means that you have extra fatty tissue in your throat, and that will only make your problems worse. You may find your snoring will go away with the extra weight, if you’ll lose it.

Other things that may contribute to snoring are drinking alcohol before bed, many common sinus pills and cough syrups, and smoking. Stay away from anything that can relax your throat muscles and add to your snoring problem.
